Bengal papers, 1792-1810.

A collection of copies of letters, reports, extracts from a journal, a treaty, a poem, etc. chiefly concerning Bengal. Correspondents include the Marquis Wellesley (1805), General Lake to George Barlow (1806), Capt. Knox, Lord Minto (1809) and George Thomas to Lord Minto (1801). The treaty is between the East India Company and Nepal. The journal extracts are of Capt. C. Crawford's journey to Nepal commencing 12 January 1802. The poem is the Dirge of Tippoo Sultaun. Reports are on the situation of Bundelcund, the Ceylon Massacre, financial statements for a number of zillahs, etc.
